Guadalupe River

posted in: Blog, Flies

I’ve gotten seriously behind in my blogging this month. So I’ll be playing catch up on my adventures from the last few weeks.

To start off, my sister got married so I flew out to Texas for the wedding and to see family. It was a great trip and I even squeezed in a day of Tenkara too, as well as a float trip down the Guadalupe River!

First fish brought to hand was this Bluegill!

The wedding was in a beautiful location, right on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Unfortunately, my sister had forbid me from fishing after the ceremony ????

It was a great trip, albeit too short as I was only in Texas for seven days. It was the first time in five years though that all of my siblings and their wives and children were in the same place at the same time. My Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins were all in attendance too! It was a wonderful family reunion. While it was a busy time I did manage to squeeze in a day of Tenkara with my Dad.

My Dad even brought to hand a two to three pound Channel Catfish too with a bead head dropper I rigged for him! It was a great day on the river. While I was there I picked up some fly tying material and when I got home I tied up some flies!

There is a vibrant community of Texas Tenkara Anglers. They spend a lot of time fishing the waters in Texas, where a lot of fun fishing can be had. If you’re planning to visit Texas make sure to Like them on Facebook!
